CSS – “Cansei de Ser Sexy” (2006)

Have you ever heard of a band from South America? Precisely speaking, a girls band at that?

“Cansei de Ser Sexy” is 5-women-and-1-man band that came from Brazil. I’ve always thought Brazilian girls (and guys as well) know how to enjoy their lives unlike many of us. And CSS didn’t disappoint me in that regards.

(BTW, “Cansei de Ser Sexy” means in Portuguese “Tired of being Sexy”. How awesome is this!)

If I give you one line introduction of this band, I’d say “Blondie” meets “The Rapture”, 80’s Synth pop meets 2007 dance electronica.

They are anti-pretentious. And the lyrics and sounds are so in your face that you might feel a little embarrassed. After listening to their music, I burst into laugh. It’s just so much fun, refreshing and to some degree ‘orgasmic’.

You gotta give a listen to understand what I’m saying.
