My favorite albums of 2006

여기저기 한해를 결산하며 올해 최고의 리스트를 만들어 내느라 정신이 없다. 나도 올해가 가기 전에 기록이나 남길 겸, 올해 최고 앨범을 정리해 봐야 겠다.

물론 모든 건 언제나 주관적임을 강조하며. 예를 들면 Bob Dylan 앨범이 잘만들어 졌다는 것을 인정하지만, 나는 원래부터 Bob Dylan 을 좋아하지 않아서 끌리지 않는다든가 ….. (There, I said it. Don’t throw stones at me)

KT Tunstall – Eye To The Telescope : 영화 The Devil Wears Prada 에서 Suddenly I See 가 사용되어 대중에게 많이 알려지긴 했으나 앨범 전체는 오히려 차분하다. 상당히 잘만든 데뷰 앨범

Compilations

The Beatles – Love : 수많은 Beatles compilation 앨범들이 나왔지만 Love 는 색다르다. Mash-up 과 remastering 을 통해 나름대로 modern 한 사운드를 만들어 냈다. 싫어하는 골수 팬들도 많이 있는 듯 한데, 내 귀에는 여러모로 색다른 시도로 반갑다.

Depech Mode – The Best of Depeche Mode, Vol. 1 : 그들을 80년대 Synth Pop 이라고 폄하할 사람들이 더이상 있을까. Depech Mode 가 없었다면 trip-hop, electronica 등의 장르가 지금하고는 달랐을 것이라고 감히 주장한다.

기록으로 남겨놓는 마당에 블로그 시작하기 전인 2005년 개인적인 최고 앨범도 리스트를 해본다. 적어 놓고 보니 작년에 좋은 앨범이 훨씬 많았던 듯 하다.
